Thank you so much to everyone who worked with me to make my tie dye fundraiser a success! Every social share, word of encouragement, time spent, and donation has filled my heart and I want to give the sincerest thank you!
If you were able to attend and make a shirt design, tag @withloveelizajean on Instagram with your creations from Saturday’s Tie Dye Fundraiser!
In this day of event we tie dyed around 40 shirts that I hand painted that say Black Birth Matters to support my midwifery journey! 80 shirts were donated from Port City Urban Birth Collective.
We gave out about 120 cases of diapers and wipes to our local community! These were kindly gifted by Cape Fear Area Doulas.
So far this fundraiser has raised $600 to cover the remaining cost of the Mocha Midwifery Birth Skills Training! Hand painted and dyed shirts are now available for purchase and any additional funds raised will go directly to my midwifery training & educational fees.
This donation based event will help me to continue to support birthing families in Eastern North Carolina and provide and equal standard of education, support, and care to black families, as well as fund my journey towards becoming a midwife. I am currently working towards financing for Midwife Assistant Training: Growing our Legacy as Black Birth Workers November 12-14, an international midwifery internship in Ghana, and towards investing in other educational fees.
Every bit of support helps! Words of encouragement, monetary donations, as well as volunteering your time. I appreciate each and every one of you!
